Tax on Tips

So I spoke with a bartender and I asked her what she thought of the no taxes on tips proposal by both presidential candidates. Trump came out first with the innovative idea. Then the Kamala Harris campaign thought it to be a good idea too. So, I asked my bartender what her thoughts were now that they both agreed it to be a campaign promise. I said to her it looks like they both would do it so does it matter? She said it’s not like I make minimum wage. She said she wants the taxes to show for her taxable income to have good credit and proof of income for financial reasons. She said it hurts her to have it un-taxed for those reasons. Any opinions?
